Alison joined Alsana in 2017 as a direct care counselor while working on her graduate practicum for a master of social work from St. Louis University. Upon completion, she transitioned to the Primary Therapist role, and is now the Lead Therapist where she loves working with clients to create a new self-awareness, empowering them to create change, and to live a more authentically connected life with themselves and in the world.
Alison is trained in EMDR and is working toward becoming a somatic experiencing practitioner. She has specialized training in psychodrama, expressive therapy, and play therapy. She is passionate about incorporating creativity, play, and embodiment into the therapeutic process. She truly meets clients where they are and helps them move through and experience a deep sense of healing.
Alison was drawn to Alsana by the dedication to understanding and healing the underlying factors of the eating disorder. Her passion is fueled by working with a team whose mission and values closely align with her own and that encourages her to grow as both a therapist and an individual. Alison enjoys spending time with family and friends, kickboxing, hiking, and reading. She is a certified self-defense instructor and loves to incorporate it into the treatment process to empower and aid in healing.
