We believe in community involvement at Alsana, and being part of the wider national eating disorder treatment family. So on February 1st, Alsana is not only sponsoring The Alliance for Eating Disorder Awareness’ 3rd Annual Walk for Recovery, we are putting our feet where our sponsorship is!

The Alliance for Eating Disorders provides an extensive network of information and support for clients and families who are battling an eating disorder. This year’s walk focuses on the theme “Celebrating everyBODY”, and points out that recovery is possible for everyone, and that our bodies, and feelings about them, don’t define a person.

Come join us—you may have experienced an eating disorder firsthand, or have a friend or loved one who is receiving, or needs treatment. Awareness also means prevention and early recognition of eating disorder and body image issues. Walk for yourself, or in honor of someone. Can’t walk, then cheer! And if you don’t live near Boca Raton, you can help support the Alliance with an armchair donation. More than 500 people joined last year’s Walk for Recovery. This year over 750 are expected, with a fund-raising goal of $50,000 that will be used for eating disorder awareness.

While The Alliance is a national organization, it has many very active local chapters that promote the mission of Alliance for Eating Disorders. Alsana is proud to take part in several local chapter activities across the United States.
