Golf Tournament Provides $20,000 For Scholarships

Announcements, Alsana Events, Alsana In the News, Blog

For the second year in a row, we are pleased to announce that our benefit golf tournament, held in conjunction with Project HEAL, has raised significant funds to help provide scholarships for people who might otherwise might avoid seeking treatment for their eating disorders.

With the $20,000 raised at this year’s tournament, Project HEAL will have additional support in its mission to give financial aid to individuals who are committed to their recovery and to educate the general public, medical professionals, and government agencies about the life-threatening issues that accompany eating disorders.

One of last year’s scholarship recipients, a 15-year-old young woman whose eating disorder had consumed every aspect of her life, shared her gratitude toward the scholarship program and the treatment she received at Alsana. Her treatment helped restore her self-esteem and taught her how to live, not merely survive. She credits the therapists and dietitians who helped her discover the issues that had been standing in her way and taught her new ways to view food and eat healthy.

Financial Assistance Available For Highly Motivated Individuals

Scholarship assistance from Project HEAL is available for inpatient, residential, intensive outpatient, and outpatient care. Details are available on the website at www.theprojectheal.org. The application instructions stress the importance of motivation in seeking help for recovery.

Our multi-disciplinary staff at Alsana facilities understands the long-term commitment necessary for recovery from eating disorders. Our highly skilled medical team of nurses, doctors, therapists, counselors and dietitians will work with you every step of the way.
