Ryan Varick is the Program Director of Alsana’s virtual program, Alsana Connect. He has a Bachelor of Social Work from Ramapo College of New Jersey. He currently lives in Chicago, IL, but was born and raised in New Jersey.
Prior to working for Alsana, he worked at two different non-profit organizations in Rochester, NY. For one non-profit , he wrote and developed a program for young fathers coming out of the Monroe County Correctional Facility and for those on probation. After writing and developing it, he implemented it for the duration of the grant period. For another non-profit, he built and implemented a residential program for homeless LGBTQ+ youth. Ryan said “My ‘why’ is knowing that the work I do, whether with clients or on the operational end of the process, is impactful on those who access our services. If it can increase the possibility of our clients’ success, then it is worthwhile in my eyes.”
In his free time, he enjoys traveling all over, but mainly to Central/South America and Europe, as well as domestically. He has also been actively learning Spanish for the last two years. Ryan and his partner have a three-year-old husky mix named Bruno, who is the light of their lives.
