Clara Filbert, LPC

I am the lead therapist at Alsana St. Louis – Ballwin Area PHP/IOP. I grew up in Kansas City and went to school in Columbia. I’ve lived in St. Louis for about two years, and it feels like home now.
My therapeutic philosophy is based in my belief that all people have the capacity for healing within a safe environment that nurtures identity and self-compassion. I work to help our clients authentically connect with their true passions and values while also developing their regulation skills. I utilize compassion-focused therapy with integrations of CBT and DBT. I have also received training on attachment-based therapies such as trust-based relational intervention and play therapy.

In my spare time, I really enjoy getting to be in nature with my pup! I also love audio books and listening to podcasts.

PHP/IOP as Early Intervention

Treatment is more effective and tends to be less disruptive to an individual’s life when delivered early after symptoms have been detected. Accessing PHP/IOP as early intervention for eating disorders can mean less time spent in treatment, a reduced likelihood of relapse, and fewer physical and mental health risks.

Waiting until eating disorder symptoms worsen before getting help is common but not advised. Clients who seek early intervention are more likely to be receptive to their care team and often get more out of their time in treatment. In fact, early intervention makes it possible for some clients to avoid needing an in person treatment program altogether.

Two Woman Talking

PHP/IOP as Relapse Prevention

Alsana offers Two-Week Intensives at PHP/IOP levels of care for individuals in need of relapse prevention support. Recovery maintenance takes vigilance, persistence and support. Alsana St. Louis wants you to know that no matter how long it’s been since leaving treatment, not only is it ok to ask for help when you’re struggling, it’s encouraged.

PHP/IOP relapse prevention programming is available virtually and in person. If you or someone you know needs help, contact us today.
