It’s not too late to join the fun of enjoying a round of golf at one of the St. Louis area’s finest courses while supporting Alsana’s First Charity Golf Tournament to benefit Project Heal, a not-for-profit organization that provides scholarships for people who need life-saving treatment for eating disorders but cannot afford the cost. More than 80 golfers already have registered for the tournament, which will be held Monday, October 6, at Fox Run Golf Club in Eureka, Missouri. Various levels of participation are available.

The day full of activities begins with a 10:30 a.m. check-in and shotgun start time at noon. The practice area will be open at from 9 to 11:30 a.m. After the tournament, a reception and award dinner will begin at 5 p.m., including an auction that will open at 6 p.m. The auction will feature original recovery artwork created by Alsana alumni and current clients. A Alsana graduate also will share a personal story of recovery as guest speaker at the celebration.
Sponsorship Support Gaining Momentum
Alsana is particularly proud to announce the growing list tournament sponsors, which will provide a considerable boost to the financial scholarships available. Lakeview Health Center in Jacksonville, Florida, has come on board as a $10,000 Platinum Sponsor. Lakeview is a private drug and alcohol rehab center that specializes in holistic treatment for its clients. Other sponsors include UMB Bank and Zimmer Midamerica at the $5,000 Silver level. Because Alsana is committed to providing help for people who suffer from potentially life-threatening eating disorders, it will match all sponsorships dollar for dollar.
In addition to offering grants for treatment, Project Heal is involved in public education regarding eating disorders. The organization provides speakers for schools, community groups, health organizations and legislative offices. According to Nancy Albus, Alsana CEO, more than 30 million people in the United States experience the physical, mental and emotional stress of eating disorders.
