Alsana will soon be offering outpatient therapy sessions. The new sessions are designed to provide flexible options to individuals and families struggling with an eating disorder.

Only about 10 percent of individuals in need of treatment for an eating disorder actually receive the help they need. For many of those who don’t seek treatment, time or schedule restraints are often factors that keep them away. The outpatient therapy sessions at Alsana will give individuals and families convenient options for getting help.

The outpatient services will begin later this month. An eating disorder support group for families will be held on the fourth Wednesday of every month, and a support group for clients will meet on the first and third Wednesday of the month. In addition, we will offer individual and family therapy sessions on a flexible, outpatient basis. Through these new treatment options, Alsana is aiming to help more people who are in desperate need of eating disorder treatment.

Susan Wolfe, Licensed Professional Counselor, will facilitate the outpatient services:

“Alsana is always looking for a way to individualize treatment and be a family friendly resource,” said Susan. “I am excited about this opportunity to provide comprehensive services to the St. Louis community.”
