As a Utilization Review Specialist with Alsana, Cierra works behind the scenes advocating for our clients to ensure the appropriate care setting for all levels of services. Cierra earned her nursing degree at Northwest Louisiana Technical College in Shreveport, LA. Prior to Alsana, she worked in Acute Care with primarily the geriatric psych population.
She begins by acknowledging the lack of eating disorder education and training in nursing programs; it wasn’t until she transitioned her nursing care into the world of eating disorders that she fully understood the impact of these illnesses on every body system. She is most passionate about educating insurance providers on the complexity of these disorders and finds fulfillment in supporting our clients as they reclaim their wellness.
During Cierra’s spare time she likes to take life easy. She frequents flea-markets, collecting Pyrex and antiques, or enjoys her time under the sun with her spouse and children. She desires to live life slowly and enjoy the little things.
